The LCR Base Metal Property is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Terrace, British Columbia. The 7547 hectares of contiguous claim units are centered over a Cretaceous age intrusive complex that has intruded Jurassic sedimentary rocks of the Bowser Lake Group.
Exploration has been focused on the alteration zones surrounding the intrusive complex. Gold, copper and molybdenum mineralization occurs within the stockwork zones. Minor mineralization is also identified within the highly-altered intrusive material as disseminated grains.
Eagle Plains has conducted two very successful exploration seasons on the property and have advanced the understanding of its potential significantly. The $800,000, three-phase 2004-2005 work program involved a winter airborne geophysical survey, a geochemical survey, 1:10,000 scale geologic mapping and a short diamond drilling program. 2005 work consisted of follow-up and reconnaissance geochemical surveys and mapping, trenching, and a 2556 m, 20-hole diamond drilling program that tested targets developed during the 2004 and 2005 field seasons.
With excellent infrastructure, favorable geology and geochemistry the LCR Project represents an exciting opportunity in an under-explored area. |
