Eagle Plains Appoints New Director
Cranbrook, B.C.: Eagle
Plains Resources Ltd. (EPL:CDNX) is pleased to announce that
it has appointed Charles C. Downie of Cranbrook, B.C.
to serve on the Board of Directors of Eagle Plains.
Mr. Downie has over 20 years experience in the mineral
exploration and mining. Prior to his graduation from
The University of Alberta (B.Sc 1988), Mr. Downie
worked for Cominco Ltd. at the Pine Point Mine and at
various
exploration projects throughout Western Canada. After
graduation, he was employed by Cominco at the Snip,
Polaris and Sullivan Mines, where he was involved
in grassroots exploration, mine development and mine
production.
Since leaving Cominco in 1993, Mr. Downie worked as
a geological consultant throughout North, Central,
and South America with a wide range of project types
including
copper-gold porphyry, shear hosted gold, sedimentary
exhalitive, and Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide mineralization
models.
Mr. Downie has been associated with Eagle Plains Resources
since 1994 and brings extensive project management
experience related to property evaluation, specifically
diamond
drilling and geochemical sampling applications. Mr.
Downie is a member in good standing of the Association
of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British
Columbia and has been the Exploration Manager for
Eagle Plains Resources since 1999.
John J. Barclay has recently resigned from the Board
of Directors, after serving since the company's inception
in 1994. The Board would like to thank Mr. Barclay
for his contribution to the company, and wish him well
in
his future endeavors.
