Eagle Plains Commences "Hit" Property Drilling Program

Cranbrook, B.C.:Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. (EPL:ASE) announces that it has commenced the second phase of a two-phase exploration program on its' 100% owned Hit property located in east-central Yukon, 210 km northeast of Ross River. The 1999 Phase 1 program consisted of trenching and geologic mapping. Results were encouraging, and warrant follow-up by diamond drilling. The 16-unit (800 acre) property is situated within the Selwyn Basin, and is underlain by sedimentary rocks of the Road River Formation. Mineralization is stratigraphically controlled, and consists of gold enrichment within replacement horizons proximal to granitic rocks of the Cretaceous aged Tombstone Suite.

Drilling activity has recently been completed on Eagle Plains' 100% owned Dragon Lake Property, located 85 km northeast of Ross River (see News Release August 16th, 1999). A total of four holes were completed for a total of 985'. Results of this program will be announced as assays are returned.
